A Magazine Curated by Peter Do: Exhibition and Launching Party: Trần Anh-Hùng

27 February 2024

Galerie BAQ was proud to showcase Trần Anh Hùng’s ceramics x Xin Mời, for A Magazine curated by Peter Do, in a private party taking place during Paris Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter 2024.

A Magazine Curated By delves into the world of a chosen fashion designer with each issue, inviting a guest curator to express their aesthetic and cultural values. As all the featured artists hail from Asian diasporas, the event exuded a strong sense of community spirit.

The 26th issue, curated by Peter Do, founder of his eponymous label and creative director of Helmut Lang, captures his deep appreciation for craftsmanship. The cover, adorned with black embroidery and silver Pantone accents, reflects Do's meticulous attention to detail. This issue serves as a personal journey through Do's memories, from his upbringing in Biên Hòa, Vietnam, to his life in New York, exploring the concept of home and the significance of places, people, and objects in shaping one's identity. It offers readers an intimate glimpse into the inner world of the reserved designer.

Trần Anh-Hùng, a French filmmaker of Vietnamese heritage, is renowned for his contributions to overseas Vietnamese cinema. His collaboration with Galerie BAQ for the exhibition a drop of serenity featured a collection of vases alongside works by filmmakers and artists Phạm Ngọc Lân, Huỳnh Công Nhớ, Trương Minh Quý, and Síu Phạm.
